Music has been a part of Brittni Roach’s life since the very beginning, blossoming from a childhood gift of a toddler’s toy piano that fostered her inborn fascination with melody and sound…. Since then, Brittni has dedicated her life to the study and teaching of music. She knew from an early age that music would always be a part of her life and her dream of starting her teaching studio began to take root and grow. Brittni now serves as the founder and owner of Musical Moments Studio, LLC and has been successfully running her independent music studio for over 16 years.
Brittni received a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and Violin Performance from the University of Mount Union in 2012, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Ethnomusicology from Kent State University in 2014.
Brittni has also recently become a licensed Kindermusik educator, teaching Kindermusik at the Hudson School of Music and is now expanding the studio to begin offering group classes.
Currently, Brittni serves as a professor of music at Kent State University, Kent State University at Stark, and the University of Mount Union. Brittni has also presented the paper “V-Pop Reflections: Cultural Continuance of Vietnamese Popular Music in Northeast Ohio” at the 2013 Niagara Chapter meeting of the Society for Ethnomusicology at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Since 2008, Brittni has been a member of the Alliance Symphony and the University of Mount Union Repertory Strings. She has been a performer for the Tuscarawas Philharmonic, the Wooster Symphony, and numerous small community ensembles and musical ‘pit’ orchestras. Brittni has also performed internationally in a string trio that toured Italy in the spring of 2011.
Along with her participation in the above performing groups, Brittni is currently a member of the Society for Ethnomusicology and the Music Teachers National Association. She has also participated in the Ohio Music Education Association and Mu Phi Epsilon.
